Professional Activities
	He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology He was chairman of the IERE Papers committee, a member of the IERE Board, chairman of the IERE Communications Committee, and chairman of the Essex Branch, IEE. He was a member of the IEE Electronics and Communications Divisional Board, and chairman of the IEE professional groups on antennas and propagation (E11), and radiocommunications (E8). In 2005-2006 he chaired the DTI Measurement Advisory Committee. He is a visiting professor at the universities of Surrey and Lancaster.
